Safety Measures for International Cooperation Projects
Following the terrorist attack in Dhaka, Bangladesh
., of July, 2016, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) established the Council on Safety Measures for International Cooperation Projects under Minister for Foreign Affairs. The purpose of the Council is to conduct fundamental review of safety measures related to international cooperation and to develop the new safety measures.
The Council convened five meetings from 12th July to 30th August,joined by relevant ministries and agencies. Taking into account the views of various experts, the Council presented a final report on new safety measures on 30th August.
MOFA and JICA plan to steadily implement the report’s content and strengthen safety measures related to international cooperation projects.
