Opening Remarks
Mr. Fumio Kishida, Minister for Foreign Affairs: Early this morning, Japan time, or in the afternoon of July 2, New York time, the United Nations Security Council issued a statement that condemns the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack in Bangladesh and expresses deep sympathy and condolences to the victims. Based on a proposal by Japan, the United Nations Security Council has been able to swiftly issue a message demonstrating its strong will that terrorism can never be accepted. I consider this to be highly meaningful. Today, I will receive a report from Mr. Seiji Kihara, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, from Dhaka, and organize a meeting of the emergency response headquarters to confirm today's developments. That is all for my opening remarks.
