The Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs collects, classifies, and preserves Japan’s diplomatic records and makes them available to the public for perusal.
It also exhibits valuable treaties and other historical documents from the end of the Tokugawa period to the present day. Everyone is welcome to the Diplomatic Archives to have a look.
On April 8, 2024, the Exhibition Room of the Diplomatic Archives reopened on the 5th floor of the Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower. The Exhibition Room has new explanatory panels and videos to help visitors understand the exhibits. We look forward to your visit. (April 8, 2024)
The Reading Room is open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm and does not require prior booking. Please visit our Japanese website for details.
