1. On April 19, the Council on Safety Measures for International Cooperation Projects held its third meeting since becoming a permanent council at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was attended by Mr. Takio Yamada, Director-General, International Cooperation Bureau, Mr. Masaaki Kato, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), as well as government officials, members of the private sector, NGO personnel, and others.

2. The participants shared information and discussed the implementation of safety measures that were compiled in the Final Report of the Council released on last August 30, as well as safety measures in countries concerned.
