The Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs collects, classifies, and preserves Japan’s diplomatic records and makes them available to the public for perusal.
It also exhibits valuable treaties and other historical documents from the end of the Tokugawa period to the present day. Everyone is welcome to the Diplomatic Archives to have a look.
The Exhibition Room is located on the 5th floor of Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower (adjacent to the Diplomatic Archives). We look forward to your visit.
The Reading Room is open from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm and does not require prior booking. Please visit our Japanese website for details.

August 20
- The Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host the special exhibition "Showa Diplomacy: Records of a Turbulent Era” in the Exhibition Room.
[Part 1] Tuesday, 1 September – Saturday, 10 October 2026
[Part 2] Wednesday, 14 October – Saturday, 28 November 2026
(Note) The exhibits will be rotated between Part 1 and Part 2.

- Due to the replacement of exhibits, the special exhibition room will be closed all day on August 31, 2026. The permanent exhibition room will remain open as usual.
