Ministers

From September 22 to 27, Foreign Minister IWAYA visited New York, United States, to attend international meetings and other events held on the occasion of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the visit, Minister IWAYA attended various international meetings and held bilateral meetings with foreign ministers and other representatives.

From August 31 to September 3, Foreign Minister IWAYA visited Kuwait.

Minister Iwaya visited Kuwait to attend the 2nd Japan-GCC Foreign Ministers' Meeting held with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which consists of six Gulf countries (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates).

He also held individual meetings with Kuwait, the chair of the GCC this year, and other GCC foreign ministers during this visit.

• Foreign Minister IWAYA's Visit to Kuwait (August 31-September 3, 2025)

Foreign Minister IWAYA visited he Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Uzbekistan from August 24 to August 28.

In Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Iwaya held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Murat NURTLEU, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in Uzbekistan he held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Bakhtiyor SAIDOV, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, among others to discuss strengthening bilateral relations, cooperation forwards holding the Summit of “Central Asia plus Japan” dialogue and international affairs among others.

Furthermore, Foreign Minister Iwaya visited Samarkand of Uzbekistan, where he held a meeting with the leadership of the Administration of the Samarkand Region.
