"Gaikō (DIPLOMACY)" is Japan’s only professional bimonthly journal dedicated to diplomacy, published since 1990, under the supervision of the Gaikō Editorial Committee.

The journal introduces a wide range of perspectives on the current international affairs surrounding Japan and presents diverse discussions on diplomacy from various sectors of society.

  • Information from Vol. 80 onwards can be found on this page (Details of Vol.1 to Vol.79 are available on the Japanese page).
  • The e-book version (Japanese only) is available on Kindle approximately two weeks after its release.
  • The English titles used in the table of contents are provisional translations by the editors.
  • The articles and papers published in this journal represent the authors’ personal views.
