On June 14, commencing at around 10:20 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, held a summit telephone talk with the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America. The overview of the talk is as follows.

1. In light of Prime Minister Abe’s recent visit to Iran, the two leaders exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East. President Trump expressed appreciation for the Prime Minister’s visit to and proactive engagement with Iran.

2. The two leaders reaffirmed that they would continue to cooperate closely towards the success of the G20 Osaka Summit.

3. Prime Minister Abe congratulated President Trump for his birthday on the same day. In response, President Trump expressed his gratitude.
