Side event on Climate Fragility Risks at Japan Pavilion in COP23
Climate Fragility Risks in the Asia-Pacific Region
identifying risks and ways to move forward


During COP23 (the 23rd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)), various side events will be held at Japan Pavilion.
On 6th November 2017, National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of Japan will organize a side event on climate fragility risks in the Asia-Pacific Region.
NIES and MOFA of Japan will give a brief introduction of a report from MOFA of Japan, "Analysis and Proposal of Foreign Policies Regarding the Impact of Climate Change on Fragility in the Asia-Pacific Region-With focus on natural disasters in the Region" (PDF) , published last September.
The panelists from Asia-Pacific Region will be invited for this event having a discussion to follow concerning various risks the region faces, and seek for a way to move forward regarding regional cooperation to reduce such risks.
