On March 12th, 20 young professionals participating in MIRAI program 2017 paid a courtesy call to Mr. Manabu Horii, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the first day of their visit to Japan.

In his opening speech, Mr. Horii stated that as international order seems to be shaking, Japan-Europe partnership is more important than ever. He also stated that strong Europe is beneficial for the international community and thus Japan will continue to support strong and united Europe. He concluded his remark by saying that country to country relationship would not succeed without active people to people exchange and hoped that all of the participants would deepen the connection with Japan through this program.

After the speech, Mr. Horii had conversation with the participants on a variety of topics and told them that he expects their experiences during the program to be fruitful.

Japan's Friendship Ties Programs for under/post-graduate university students and young professionals from Europe. This year's MIRAI Program consists of 3 invitation groups; 1st Group (October Invitation), 2nd Group (December Invitation) and this 3rd Group (March 2018).
