MIRAI Program・2017 3rd Group
(Young Professionals Invitation)
1. From March 11th to 17th, 20 young professionals mostly government officials in Europe will visit Japan as members of the third group of MIRAI Program 2017 (fiscal year) promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The first group of 84 students from Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus region and second group of 81 students from Europe has visited Japan in October and December last year.
2. The third group will visit Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto to experience various aspects of Japanese society including traditional Japanese culture. In Tokyo, the participants will attend various lectures concerning diplomacy, economics, national security and Artificial Intelligence research institution to exchange their opinions with Japanese experts. In Hiroshima, they will visit the Peace Memorial Park, listen to stories of hibakusha (the atomic bomb survivor) and learn the realities of the atomic bombing. In Kyoto, they will experience zen-meditation and tea ceremony.
3. Through the program, the participants are expected to deepen their understanding of Japan and actively deliver messages about their experiences in Japan even after they return to their own countries.
