Japan-Singapore Relations

The year 2026 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Singapore.
To celebrate this memorable year together with as many people as possible and to further promote exchanges between Japan and Singapore, we are inviting applications for projects to be recognized as the “60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Singapore” Commemorative Events (hereinafter referred to as the “Commemorative Events”) and for the use of the official logo.

Those who wish to use the official logo mark (hereinafter referred to as the "Logo") are requested to carefully read the “The Guidelines for the Certification of Commemorative Events and Use of the Official Logo” below and submit the required documents accordingly.

The project should be implemented between 1 November 2025 and 31 December 2026 in Singapore or Japan. (However, projects implemented between 1 November 2025 and 31 December 2025 will be treated as the "pre-project period" and the use of the Logo in the "pre-project period" will not be permitted.)

1. The content of the project is beneficial to the promotion of exchanges, mutual understanding and strengthening of friendly relations between Japan and Singapore, as well as the introduction of Japanese culture (not limited to events and activities).
2. The project is of public benefit and not primarily for profit.
3. There is no damaging, or risk of damaging the credit or dignity of Japan or Singapore.
4. There is no violation or risk of violation of the laws and regulations or public order and morals of Japan and Singapore.
5. There is no promotion of any particular ideology, political opinion, or religion.
6. There is no risk of infringing the rights of others (copyright, etc.).
7. The guideline regarding the design and the use of the Logo stipulated in Article 6 of the Guideline is observed and the Logo is not edited or modified without permission.
8. The Logo is not used for the purposes of claiming exclusive rights (such as by registering it as your own trademark or design).
9. There is no activity and/or use of the Logo that are deemed inappropriate by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the 60th Anniversary of the Singapore-Japan Diplomatic Relations Executive Committee Secretariat.

1. Organizations wishing to obtain approval for their projects and to use the Logo are requested to submit the documents listed below to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs / the 60th Anniversary of the Singapore-Japan Diplomatic Relations Executive Committee Secretariat for projects.

     Outline / Description and statute of the organization and past activities (However, for government agencies, consular offices, local governments, and public interest corporations supervised by the Ministry, some of the required documents may be omitted; please contact us before application.)
2. Upon receipt of the email, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the 60th Anniversary of the Singapore-Japan Diplomatic Relations Executive Committee Secretariat will send the electronic data of the Logo to the applicant.

(Note) Please allow sufficient time when submitting your notification.

(Note) Commemorative Events will be listed in the websites of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Embassy of Japan in Singapore, with Name of Project, Scheduled Implementation Date and Name of Host Organisation provided at the written pledge. If the applicant does not wish to have its project listed, please notify it at the time of submission.
