Awards are made once a year. Program announcements and application forms for the 1996 Japanese fiscal year are available from The Japan Foundation New York and Los Angeles Offices, or the nearest Consulate-General or Embassy of Japan. When making a request, applicants should specify to which program(s) they are applying.
Completed applications must be postmarked no later than November
1, 1995. Applications postmarked after that date will not be
considered.
Applicants should initiate correspondence relevant to any
application as far in advance of the November I deadline as

Applications are first reviewed by The Japan Foundation's American Advisory Committee (AAC), a group of distinguished scholars and executives of cultural and educational organizations in the United States (see p. 26). Based on the recommendations of the AAC, final selection of grantees is made by The Japan Foundation headquarters in Tokyo, and applicants usually are notified of the results in April.
