Status
The following five projects have been chosen for implementation of the International Cooperation Initiative in FY2009. (Since June 2009)
(i) Madagascar:Development of ESD Pilot Materials for Madagascar through Tsimbazaza Zoological and Botanical Garden(Miyagi University of Education)
(ii) Mozambique:Development of ESD materials aimed to form global ethics under the collaboration between Mozambique and Japan(Ehime University)
(iii) South Africa:Education for Sustainable Development in Primary and Secondary Schools: A South Africa-Japan Collaboration Project to Develop a Learning Module for Classroom Application(International Christian University)
(iv) Tanzania:Development of Community-based Medical Education Module Incorporating and Promoting the Concepts of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) (Mie University)
(v) Zambia:ESD model module development for Basic Education in Zambia (Hokkaido University of Education)

The following five projects were chosen for implementation of the International Cooperation Initiative in FY2008. (Since December 2008)
(i) Mozambique:Symposium on developing an environment-ESD model under the collaboration between Mozambique and Japan (Ehime University)
(ii) South Africa:Education for Sustainable Development in Primary and Secondary Schools <A South Africa-Japan Collaboration Project to Develop a Learning Module for Classroom Application> (International Christian University)
(iii) Tanzania:Development of educational model to promote community medicine based on the concepts of Education for Sustainable Development (Mie University)
(iv) Zambia:Development of ESD model unit curriculum and teaching materials in basic education in Sub-Saharan Africa (Hokkaidou University of Education)
(v) Zambia:Promotion of ESD on food, nutrition and health through CLCs (community learning centers) (Okayama University)
