- A total of 2,397* hospitals and health centers were improved as follows; (a) 2,391 hospitals/health centers were either constructed, rehabilitated and/or provided equipments and (b) 6 hospitals and health centersworkers were improved through Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (Egypt, Niger, Ethiopia, Tanzania).

- A total of 42,371 health and medical workers received training as follows; (a) 41,258 trainees participated in a series of JICA’s trainings programs (trainings in Japan, third country training courses, in-country training courses, semiars, etc.) in the health sector and (b) 1,113 health and medical workers were trained through Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (Uganda, Cape Verde, Sudan).
