A summary of the courtesy call is as follows.

  1. Ms. Ikuina started by giving welcoming remarks to the delegation in their own languages, and stated that it was a valuable experience for future leaders from different countries to meet together and exchange views openly, and that she hoped they would become “lifelong friends”. She also expressed her hope that the participants would deepen their understanding of the importance of bolstering the free and open international order based on the rule of law in order to promote cooperation that takes advantage of Asia's diversity, inclusiveness, and openness. Additionally, she encouraged the participants would serve as bridges between participating countries and Japan after returning home.
