Japan-Tunisia Relations

March 4, 2026

In 2026, Japan and the Republic of Tunisia mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. To commemorate this significant year, we are inviting proposals for appropriate projects, which will be certified as anniversary events. Certified projects will be authorised to use the official logo. The certification criteria and application process are as follows.

1. Certification Criteria

Projects meeting the following criteria will be certified as "Japan-Tunisia Diplomatic Relations 70th Anniversary Project".

  1. Projects must, in principle, be held by 31 December 2026.
  2. The project must be judged to deepen mutual understanding and promote friendship between Japan and Tunisia in fields such as culture, arts, sports, education, science, tourism, society, and economics.
  3. The content and purpose of the project must be clearly defined, with a high likelihood of successful implementation.
  4. The organiser (applicant) shall bear full responsibility for all costs associated with implementing the project (receiving subsidies from government agencies or private foundations is permissible).
  5. The project must not be deemed to fall under any of the following categories:
    1. Projects aimed at promoting specific ideologies, political assertions, or religions
    2. Projects primarily aimed at generating profit
    3. Projects that may infringe upon the laws and regulations of the host location or the rights of others (such as copyright)
