Prime Minister Abe Receives a Courtesy Call from Mr. Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates
On March 9, commencing at 2:20 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Ayman Safadi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates. The overview of the meeting is as follows.
1. In the beginning, Prime Minister Abe expressed his appreciation for Jordan’s efforts contributing to stability in the region, including the Middle East Peace and told that Japan would like play a role in confidence-building to achieve the Middle East Peace by promoting “Corridor for Peace and Prosperity” initiative. Regarding North Korea, Prime Minister stated that international community needs to apply the maximum pressure campaign towards dismantling its nuclear program in a complete, verifiable, and irreversible manner.
2. In reply, Minister Safadi told that His Majesty King Abdullah highly values the relationship with PM Abe and would like to develop the bilateral relationship further. Mr. Safadi also said that Jordan supports the Japanese efforts towards the Middle East Peace and is committed to the “Corridor for Peace and Prosperity” initiative, mentioning that a two-state solution is the only solution for peace in the Middle East.
