Japan-Jordan Summit Telephone Talk
Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, had a telephone conversation for approximately 10 minutes commencing at 8:48 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017, with His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The overview is as follows.
1. In the beginning, His Majesty King Abdullah IIextended his congratulations to Prime Minister Abe upon his victory in the recent House of Representatives election. His Majesty also stressed that he will work together with Prime Minister Abe to further enhance the relations between Japan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. In return, Prime Minister Abe expressed his gratitude.
2. Prime Minister Abe and His Majesty King Abdullah IIdiscussed regional situation including the Middle East Peace Process. Prime Minister Abe said he would like to advance the cooperation with Jordan approaching the stability of the region. Furthermore, the two leaders shared the view to further deepen the relationship between Japan and Jordan.
