Basic Data
Diplomatic Relations:
Established in 1931. After the Soviet invasion in 1979, Japan had not given diplomatic recognition to any groups. In February, 2002, however, to follow up on the International Conference on Reconstruction Assistance to Afghanistan and to contribute to the peace and reconstruction process of the country, the Embassy of Japan in Afghanistan was reopened.
