Criteria for Recognition of Programme/Activities for "ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003"
1. Recognising Bodies or Persons
(1) In Japan, the Organising Committee for the Exchange Year.
(2) In each ASEAN country, each contact point for "ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003" or a organisation to be appointed by the Government of each ASEAN country.
2. Conditions for Recognised Programmes/Activities
Upon the receipt of application from its organiser to the above mentioned recognising body, a programme/activity will be recognised as a participating programme/activity for the Exchange Year if the following conditions are met.
(1) The Programme/activity is conducted either in the ASEAN region and/or Japan between January and December 2003.
(Note) If registered commemorative events of the ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003 are rescheduled due to the spread of SARS, such events can be held by the end of March 2004 (FY 2003) as registered ones using the official title and the logo.
(2) The Programme/activity is considered to help promote exchanges, increase mutual understanding and strengthen friendly relations between ASEAN/each ASEAN member country and Japan in a wide range of areas.
(3) Areas, modalities, organisers and venues of programmes/activities are in conformity of the "Guidelines for the implementation of programmes/activities for the Exchange Year".
(4) The Programme/activity meets a condition that each recognising body considers necessary for recognition according to circumstances of each country.
3. Mutual Recognition of Recognised Programmes/Activities
(1) The official title commemorating the Exchange Year (Note) and the logo mark for the Exchange Year can be used for publicity media (posters, leaflets, programmes, web-site, placards and screens in venues) of recognized programmes/activities in accordance with the Guidelines for the use of the logo mark.
(Note) The "ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003", the official title common to Japan and ASEAN, can be used for the recognised programmes/activities. In addition, titles translated in Japanese or each ASEAN country's national language can be used at the discretion of the organiser of the programmes/activities.
(2) The recognised programme/activity will be put on the official calendar of the commemoration programmes/activities for the Exchange Year.
