Sakura Sanae

A Japanese lady, created by computer graphics, has been appointed as a goodwill ambassador of Japan for ASEAN-Japan Exchange Year 2003.

Her name is Sakura Sanae, representing Japan's image (SAKURA-cherry blossoms) and replacing letters of ASEAN (SANAE). She is 21 years old, born in 2003 from a PC. As a symbol of the Exchange Year of the Japanese side, she will play a role in announcing to the public the Exchange Year and its commemorative events including J-ASEAN Pops to be held in Yokohama.
