The catchphrase stands for hope that Japan and ASEAN Member States hold hands and work together towards the better future.
Details of entries and selection process
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the ASEAN Secretariat invited the public to create a logo and catchphrase for “40th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation”. There were 113 entries for the logo and 551 for the catchphrase from Japan, ASEAN Member States, and other countries. The official logo and catchphrase were chosen by ambassadors of Japan and the ASEAN Member StatesMember States in a meeting held in Jakarta in November 2012. This logo and catchphrase will be used in Japan and the ASEAN Member States through 2013.
To use the logo and catchphrase
The logo and catchphrase will be used as the official symbol of 40th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.
Organizers that plan to hold events or projects between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013 in Japan or ASEAN Member States can apply for endorsement of events. Organizers of endorsed events will be entitled to use the official logo and catchphrase of the 40th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, and information of endorsed events will be listed on the official event calendar of the 40th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.
