The Forth Tokyo International Law Seminar

From August 24 to 28, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan organizes the Forth Tokyo International Law Seminar at the United Nations University, Tokyo.
- The Tokyo International Law Seminar provides a series of international law lectures by leading scholers and prominent practitioners for governments officials from the Asia and Africa, as well as for Japanese lawyers and international law researchers. The Seminar aims to strengthen the rule of law in the region as well as human resources development in Japan in the field of international law.
- This Seminar is held as one the concrete steps to build the international order based on the rule of law with a view to contributing to the updated “Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP)” that Japan attaches great importance to.
- Back to back with the Seminar, “Asia Cup,” one of the largest international law moot court competitions in Asia, is also held. Asia Cup is a competition dealing with public international law and has been held annually in Japan since 1999, with participation of students from Asian countries.
- The Seminar is expected to continue to contribute to the sharing of knowledge and the fostering of networks among international law experts and practitioners so that they may work hand in hand to firmly defend international order based on the rule of law.
