Courtesy Call by State Minister for Foreign Affairs HORII on Hon. Mr. Matthew Cooper Wale, Prime Minister of Solomon Islands

On July 24, from 4:20 p.m., for approximately sixty minutes, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan HORII Iwao paid a courtesy call on Hon. Mr. Matthew Cooper Wale, Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, who is currently visiting Japan.
- At the outset, State Minister HORII stated that he was glad to meet Prime Minister Wale again following his visit to Solomons Islands last month, and welcomed Prime Minister Wale’s visit to Japan shortly after taking office.
- State Minister HORII stated that Japan has long attached great importance to supporting the sustainable economic growth of Solomon Islands and that Japan will continue its support to address the issues facing Solomon Islands. In response, Prime Minister Wale expressed his appreciation to the Government and people of Japan for its cooperation.
- In addition, both sides exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional affairs and concurred on continuing to cooperate closely.
