Video Message by Minister Kamikawa for the Second Tokyo International Law Seminar
On August 26, Ms. KAMIKAWA Yoko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan delivered a video message at the opening session of the second "Tokyo International Law Seminar" organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.
Referring to her visit to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) as three guardians of the “rule of law” in January of this year, Minister Kamikawa emphasized the need to further efforts to promote the “rule of law” at the international level. She also stated that the Seminar serves as a truly transnational and transregional platform for co-creating the “rule of law” where officials and legal experts from Asia and Africa deepen their knowledge together, and expressed her sincere hope that the Seminar would make a contribution, based on a “co-creation” approach, to the realization of peace guided by the “rule of law” in the future.
