Statement by the Press Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the Statement released by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) Leader Abdullah Ocalan

  1. Japan welcomed the historic first step taken in the message released by Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) Leader Abdullah Ocalan on March 21 calling for halting the violence.
  2. Japan expects that this call will be realized in concrete actions, and that there will soon be an end to the terrorist activities that have occurred continuously in Turkey up until now.
  3. Japan will continue to support the efforts of the Government of Turkey to eliminate acts of terrorism.
