Japan-U.S. Foreign Ministers’ Telephone Talk

  1. On March 1, commencing at 1:25 p.m. for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a Japan-U.S. Foreign Miniters’ telephone talk with the Honorable Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State of the United States. The overview of the talk is as follows.

    1. At the outset, Secretary Pompeo explained about the second U.S.-North Korea Summit held on February 27th and 28th.

    2. Based on the result of the second U.S.-North Korea Summit, the two foreign ministers closely aligned their future policies toward the resolution of the abductions, nuclear, and missile issues..

    3. They reconfirmed that Japan and the United States, as well as Japan, the United States, and the ROK, will continue to coordinate closely.
