The Foreign Minister of Maldives to Visit Japan

1. H.E. Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, will visit Japan from June 13 to 15, 2018.
2. On this occasion, Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will hold a meeting with Minister Asim to exchange views on Japan-Maldives relations and regional issues.
3. Maldives is situated in a strategic point in the Indian Ocean and is an important country for Japan. Minister Asim’s visit to Japan is expected to further deepen the friendly relations between Japan and Maldives.
