The 6th Annual Japan-UK Nuclear Dialogue

1. On 26 (Thursday) and 27 (Friday) October, the sixth Annual Japan-UK Nuclear Dialogue was held in London, co-chaired by Mr. Makoto Hayashi, Director of Non-Proliferation, Science and Nuclear Energy Division, Disarmament, Non-Proliferation and Science Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Professor Robin Grimes, FCO Chief Scientific Advisor.
2. The Dialogue discussed a range of subjects relevant to nuclear policy including nuclear research and development, decommissioning and clean up, and nuclear safety and regulation.
Participants reaffirmed the usefulness of sharing each other’s efforts and experiences, and shared the intention to continue UK-Japan cooperation in civil nuclear energy area.
