The President of the Russian Federation to Visit Japan
1. H.E. Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, will pay an official working visit to Japan from Thursday, December 15 to Friday, December 16, 2016.
2. During President Putin’s visit, Mr. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, will hold meetings with President Putin in Yamaguchi Prefecture (Nagato City)
and Tokyo.
3. It is expected that President Putin’s visit will further advance Japan-Russia relations.

(1) This is the 6th visit by President Putin to Japan (4th visit as President).
(2) During the first and second terms of the Abe administration, 15 Japan-Russia Summit Meetings were held between Prime Minister Abe and President Putin, including the Meeting on the occasion of the APEC Summit Meeting in Lima, Peru in November of this year.
