IAEA / RCA Final Review Meeting of the RCA Project on Marine benchmark study on the possible impact of the Fukushima radioactive releases in the Asia-Pacific Region
1. IAEA/RCA Final Review Meeting of the RCA Project on Marine benchmark study on the possible impact of the Fukushima radioactive releases in the Asia-Pacific Region will be held by IAEA in Tokyo during 11 – 13 November.
2. This meeting is scheduled to have discussions for summerizing achievements of the project which has been conducted since 2011. The project was designed and implemented for Asia and Pacific countries to acquire techniques and know-how for evaluating the possible impact of the Fukushima radioactive releases.
3. The meeting will bring together experts from IAEA and 18 Asia and Pacific countries. From Japanese side, staffs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan (MOFA) and NRA will attend the meeting.

1.The RCA(Regional Cooperative Agreement for Research, Development and Training Related to Nuclear Science and Technology)is a framework created for countries in the Asia Pacific region to promote and manage projects for joint research, development and training regarding nuclear science and technology as part of the activities of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
2. RCA Project “Marine benchmark study on the possible impact of the Fukushima radioactive releases in the Asia-Pacific Region”
(1) Participating countries: 22 countries from the Asia and Pacific region including Japan
(2) Duration: 4 years (August 2011 – November 2015)

- Training courses regarding marine monitoring
- Marine monitoring by participating countries
