USS “Ronald Reagan” to Arrive in Yokosuka

1. The U.S. Navy announced today that the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS “Ronald Reagan” will arrive in Yokosuka on October 1.
2. The Government of Japan recognizes that the continuous strong presence of the U.S. Navy will contribute to the security of Japan and the maintenance of peace and security of the region. In addition, the Government of Japan welcomes the arrival of the “Ronald Reagan”, taking note of the fact that the “Ronald Reagan” joined aid activities by the U.S. Forces (Operation Tomodachi) in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
