16th Japan-China Joint Committee on Fisheries to be Held in Tokyo
1. The 16th Japan-China Joint Committee on Fisheries will be held in Tokyo on July 16.
2. The 16th Japan-China Joint Committee on Fisheries will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Makita Shimokawa, Deputy Director-General, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kenji Kagawa, Deputy Director-General, Fisheries Agency, and others; and on the Chinese side by Zhao Xingwu, Director-General, Bureau of Fisheries and Fishery Law Enforcement, Ministry of Agriculture, and others.
3. This Committee was established based on the Japan-China Fisheries Agreement and is convened every year in principle. At the 16th Committee discussions are scheduled to take place on operational conditions for fishing operations within the exclusive economic zone of each country in the 2015 fishing season, resources management in the provisional measure waters, and the Chinese coral vessels issue.
