15th Japan-China Joint Committee on Fisheries to be Held

1. The 15th Japan-China Joint Committee on Fisheries will be held in Dalian, People’s Republic of China on December 18.

2. The 15th Japan-China Joint Committee on Fisheries will be attended on the Japanese side by Mr. Makita Shimokawa, Deputy Director-General, Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kenji Kagawa, Deputy Director-General, Fisheries Agency, and others; and on the Chinese side by Zhao Xingwu, Director-General, Bureau of Fisheries and Fishery Law Enforcement, Ministry of Agriculture, and others.

3. This Committee was established based on the Japan-China Fisheries Agreement and is convened every year in principle. At the 15th Committee discussions are scheduled to take place on the Chinese coral vessels issues, operational conditions for conditions of fishing operations within the exclusive economic zone of each country in the 2014 fishing season, and resources management in the provisional measure waters.
