The Second Japan-U.S. Development Dialogue to be held in Tokyo

1. On Tuesday, February 10, the second Japan-U.S. Development Dialogue (senior level) is going to be held in Tokyo, Japan.

2. Ambassador Takeshi Osuga, Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Bureau, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and other relevant officials from MOFA and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will attend the meeting from the Japanese side, while Mr. Kurt Tong, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, the Department of State, and Ms. Patricia Rader, Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator for Policy, Planning and Learning, USAID, and other relevant officials will attend from the U.S. side.

3. During the second Development Dialogue, the two sides are scheduled to discuss Japan-U.S. development cooperation vis-à-vis development challenges such as global health including the Ebola outbreak, women’s empowerment, post-2015 development agenda, and disaster risk reduction, as well as issues in Asia Pacific and Africa.
