G20 Osaka Summit

Summit Bag Production and Distribution, Summit Bag and Contents Details

Following the custom of other summit hosts, Japan produces and distributes Summit Bags as souvenirs for visiting dignitaries from the participating 37 countries and international organizations, as well as to the press and related visitors.

One of the main themes for discussions at the G20 Summit Osaka is how to actively address the problem of marine plastic litter. Therefore, no single-use plastic items will be supplied during the summit. The Summit Bag and its contents were chosen based on this "plastics smart" viewpoint.

The Summit Bag made of cotton canvas is sewn by master craftspeople in the summit host region of Osaka. The Summit Bag also contains plastic-free daily goods and stationeries showing a truly Japanese sensibility.
