Judo Uniforms Donated to the Confederación Argentina de Judo
In March 2017 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a donation ceremony for judo uniforms provided by the Solidarity of International Judo Education (SIJE), a non-profit organization (NPO), at the opening ceremony for the Buenos Aires Pan American Open 2017, a World Judo Tour competition hosted by the Confederación Argentina de Judo (Argentina Judo Federation). In Argentina, judo is not simply a combat sport. It is highly appreciated as a Japanese martial art useful for human education, including manners and discipline, and Argentina wishes to implement various cooperation to learn more from Japan.
This project was carried out under the banner of Sport for Tomorrow, the Government of Japan’s program for making international contributions through sports, and was implemented with the goal of promoting international cooperation and international exchanges in the field of sports.
