Basic Information
1. What is the G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting?
The G7 Trade Ministers' Meeting is one of the ministerial meetings held in conjunction with the G7 Summit. Amid the changing environment surrounding trade, the G7 Trade Ministers will closely discuss towards sustainable growth of the global economy.
In 2021, under the British chairmanship, the first Trade Ministers’ Meeting was held in the G7 process. Followed by three meetings, including online meetings, under the British chairmanship in 2021, two meetings were held under the German chairmanship in 2022. In previous meetings, there were exchanges of views among the G7 on WTO reform, ensuring a level playing field, supply chain resilience, economic coercion, and other issues, towards maintaining a free and fair trading system.
