Japan-Turkey Summit Telephone Talk
On September 9, commencing at around 4:10 p.m. for approximately 15 minutes, Mr. ABE Shinzo, Prime Minister of Japan, held a summit telephone talk with H.E. Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOGAN, President of the Republic of Turkey. The overview of the talk is as follows.
1. President Erdogan firstly expressed his sympathy on the damages caused by Typhoon No. 10, and he praised Prime Minister Abe’s achievements. President also stated that it was his pleasure to have been able to cooperate with Prime Minister Abe toward the development of bilateral relations.
2. Prime Minister Abe explained that he was stepping down from his position as Prime Minister, and expressed his gratitude for the significant development of the bilateral relations, which have been achieved by both leader’s frequent visits and meetings, based on their firm bond of trust.
3. Both leaders shared the view that the two countries would continue to closely cooperate in future.
