Exchange of views on climate change with NGO
On April 24, Ministry of foreign Affairs (MOFA) exchanged opinions with NGO.
At this meeting, participants of the meeting exchanged their opinions and views on climate change issues such as COP24, Taranoa dialogue and G20 Summit. MOFA made brief presentations on outcomes that Japan expects at Subsidiary Bodies will be held in Bonn from April 30 to May 11, Summary of G20 Climate Sustainability Working Group held in Buenos Aires on April 17 and 18, efforts for G20 summit and so on. Indications and opinions from NGO were informative for the government of Japan in engaging climate change diplomacy.
The representatives from NGO joined the delegation of Japan to the COP23 of the UNFCCC. MOFA will further continue to have active discussion with NGO tackling climate change, and will also collaborate closely with them.
