Field Training Exercise of the Quad Indo-Pacific Logistics Network in Guam

- From December 8 to 12, the first-ever Quad (Japan, Australia, India and the United States) Indo-Pacific Logistics Network (IPLN) Field Training Exercise (FTX) was conducted in Guam, the U.S., with the participation of the Ministry of Defense and Self-Defense Forces from Japan.
- The IPLN is a cooperation initiative whose pilot project was announced at the Quad Leaders’ Summit in September 2024. This initiative aims at supporting swift and effective response to natural disasters in the Indo-Pacific region through transportation cooperation between the Quad partners.
- In the FTX conducted this time, personnel from the Quad partners boarded a Japan Air Self-Defense Force C-130H transport aircraft and identified response to natural disasters, with the aim of concretizing cooperation. A joint statement was issued after the FTX.
- The FTX was conducted as part of efforts to promote practical cooperation toward the realization of a "Free and Open Indo-Pacific."
