11th ASEAN-Japan Counter-Terrorism Dialogue

- The 11th ASEAN-Japan Counter-Terrorism Dialogue will be held on February 21 and 22 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
- The 11th Dialogue will be co-chaired by H.E. Mr. Eiji Yamamoto, Ambassador in charge of International Cooperation for Countering Terrorism and International Organized Crime; and Mr. Pengiran Muhamad Sazali Pengiran Yakob, Permanent Secretary [Security and Enforcement], the Prime Minister's Office, Brunei Darussalam. The Dialogue will be attended by officials from Japan, all the ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat and some International Organizations.
- This Dialogue was launched in 2006 based on the decision made at the ASEAN-Japan Summit Meeting held in December 2005. It has been a forum to exchange views on the current situation related to terrorism and discuss various projects funded by the Japan-ASEAN Integration Fund (JAIF) which contribute to the region-wide counter-terrorism measures. At this Dialogue implementation of UNSCR 2396 addressing return and relocation of foreign terrorist fighters (FTFs) will be one of the main agendas.

- The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th Dialogues were held in June 2006 in Tokyo; September 2007 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; October 2008 in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR; August 2009 in Nha Trang, Vietnam; June 2010 in Bali, Indonesia; February 2011 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia; July 2012 in Cebu, Philippines; May 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand; May 2014 in Singapore; in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, respectively.
