Nuclear Disarmament and Non-Proliferation

From 14 to 18 July 2025, the Plenary Meeting of the Australia Group (AG) was held in Sydney, Australia, for the first time in ten years to mark the 40th anniversary of its foundation. Following the Plenary Meeting, the AG released the Chair’s Statement (PDF) , as well as the Joint Officials’ Statement (PDF) commemorating this milestone.

In Joint Officials’ Statement, AG participants manifested their resolve to shape and drive global counter-proliferation efforts to prevent the spread of chemical and biological weapons, while providing the confidence, trust and assurance necessary for legitimate trade and scientific cooperation for peaceful purposes.
