Statement by the G7 Non-Proliferation Directors Group

On August 21, the G7 Non-Proliferation Directors Group released its Statement.
In this statement, the G7 condemns Russia’s continued war against Ukraine, reaffirms its unwavering support for Ukraine and states its position on pressing issues in disarmament and non-proliferation, including Iran’s nuclear issues, the complete denuclearization of North Korea, export controls, peaceful uses of nuclear energy, issues in relation to biological, chemical, and conventional weapons, as well as space and emerging technologies. The G7 also reiterates its commitment to the ultimate goal of a world without nuclear weapons, recalling the unprecedented devastation and immense human suffering the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki experienced.
