On May 20, from 12:15 p.m. for approximately [15] minutes, Ms. ERI Arfiya, Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from Dr. Robin Geiss, Director of the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), who is currently visiting Japan.

  1. Vice-Minister Eri welcomed Dr. Geiss’s visit to Japan and expressed expectations for strengthened cooperation between the UNIDIR and the Government of Japan and research institutions in Japan. In response, Dr. Geiss expressed his appreciation to Japan and intention to continue and further strengthen the partnership with Japan.
  2. Vice-Minister Eri also exchanged views with Dr. Geiss on a wide range of disarmament and security-related issues as well as UN reform and expressed expectations for further intellectual contributions by the UNIDIR in the field of disarmament.
