ASEM Seminar: “Asia-Europe Learning Mutually -Asia-Europe Cooperation in the 21st Century (Towards the 8th ASEM Summit)”

- The ASEM seminar entitled “Asia-Europe Learning Mutually -Asia-Europe Cooperation in the 21st Century (Towards the 8th ASEM Summit)-” will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 30 (Tue) in Tokyo (Hotel New Otani). This seminar is co-hosted by Belgium, China and the European Commission and organized in collaboration with the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).
- In this seminar, Asian and European experts will weigh the future possibility of advancing exchange and cooperative relationships in Asia against Europe’s deeper economic and regional integration. A policy recommendation will be made as an outcome of the seminar.
- This seminar is expected to deepen common understanding of Asia-Europe cooperation in the 21st century. At the same time, it is hoped that the above-mentioned policy recommendation will be used as a reference when examining how Japan and other ASEM partners can contribute to ASEM 8 Summit to be held in October 2010.
