  1. The ASEM seminar entitled “Asia-Europe Learning Mutually -Asia-Europe Cooperation in the 21st Century (Towards the 8th ASEM Summit)-” will be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 30 (Tue) in Tokyo (Hotel New Otani). This seminar is co-hosted by Belgium, China and the European Commission and organized in collaboration with the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF).

  2. In this seminar, Asian and European experts will weigh the future possibility of advancing exchange and cooperative relationships in Asia against Europe’s deeper economic and regional integration. A policy recommendation will be made as an outcome of the seminar.

  3. This seminar is expected to deepen common understanding of Asia-Europe cooperation in the 21st century. At the same time, it is hoped that the above-mentioned policy recommendation will be used as a reference when examining how Japan and other ASEM partners can contribute to ASEM 8 Summit to be held in October 2010.
