The 4th ASEAN-Japan Counter-Terrorism Dialogue

  1. The 4th ASEAN-Japan Counter-Terrorism Dialogue will be held on August 11 (Tue) and 12 (Wed) in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.
     
  2. The 4th round of the Dialogue will be opened by H.E. Mr. Pham Quang Vinh, Assistant to the Foreign Minister of Vietnam, and co-chaired by Mr. Kiyoshi Araki, Ambassador in Charge of International Counter-Terrorism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and Mr. Nguyen Ba Son, Ambassador, Director-General, Department of International Law and Treaties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
     
  3. This Dialogue follows the agreement at the ASEAN-Japan Summit Meeting held in December 2005. The Dialogue is intended as a forum for confirming the importance of the international cooperation in countering terrorism as well as exchanging the views between Japan and the ASEAN Member Countries about the ways to strengthen the cooperation in the region.

    The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Dialogues were held on June 28 and 29, 2006 in Tokyo; September 10 and 11, 2007 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and on October 14, 2008 in Luang Phabang, Lao PDR, respectively.
