Visit to Japan by Professor Vitit Muntarbhorn, UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

- Professor Vitit Muntarbhorn, United Nations Special Rapporteur on the 
    Situation of Human Rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea 
    (DPRK) (Professor of Chulalongkorn University, Thailand), will visit Japan 
    from January 23 (Fri) to 28 (Wed) for information-gathering on the human 
    rights situation in North Korea.
 
- During his stay in Japan, Professor Muntarbhorn will exchange opinions on the human rights situation in DPRK, including the abduction issue, with government officials such as Mr. Hirofumi Nakasone, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Kyoko Nakayama, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan on the Abduction Issue, families of abductees and others.
