Visit to Turkmenistan, Slovakia, Austria and Mongolia
(August 29-September 4, 2026)
From August 29 to September 4, Foreign Minister MOTEGI visited Turkmenistan, Slovakia, Austria and Mongolia.
During this visit, Minister MOTEGI held meetings with foreign ministers and other key government officials of each country, and attended the 8th Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Visegrad Group (V4) plus Japan in Slovakia.
Visit to Saudi Arabia and Oman
(August 17-22, 2026)
From August 17 to 22, Foreign Minister MOTEGI visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman.
Through this visit, Minister MOTEGI, in light of the current situation in the Middle East, had meetings with key government officials of each country and the legitimate Yemeni government official based in Saudi Arabia, to reaffirm cooperation towards the early de-escalation of the situation and ensuring the free and safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and to exchange views on strengthening bilateral relations across a wide range of fields.
Visit to Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, and Trinidad and Tobago
(August 2-9, 2026)
From August 2 to 9, Foreign Minister MOTEGI visited Mexico, Panama and Ecuador, and Trinidad and Tobago.
Through this visit, Foreign Minister MOTEGI held meetings with key government officials in each country on bilateral cooperation—focused primarily on economic and economic security areas such as strengthening the resilience of supply chain, including for critical minerals, and energy—as well as on collaboration to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order based on the rule of law.
